Hidalgo is an exceptional Dark Silver Gray. Not only is his gray coloring free from spots he carries True Black genetics. His fleece is fine(19.9 microns), even by non-gray standards. His fiber has a lovely handle, a joy to run your fingers through.
Hidalgo took 1st place at the AOBA certified Alpaca Adventure at the Oregon State Fair. Judge Nard Mullen commented that Hidalgo was "Extremely well balanced" and had "Excellent bone density".
Hidalgo is conformationally correct and solid making him an excellent choice for breeding. His bite is right on. He is a strong average size. A stud you can breed to any of your females - large or small! We expect to see him have a fabulous and long breeding career!
Going for color and outstanding fine fiber? He comes from a rarely seen gray bloodline that includes 6 silver grays and 2 true blacks.
Hidalgo is settling females and is now available for outside breedings. So far he has 6 cria coming in 2006! His "proof" will start hitting the ground in Summer '06. They're here! check out a couple at the right.
Hidalgo will be perforing breedings in the NW from mid April through October!
