Until I read an advertisement in the Alaska magazine while on a flight to Alaska we knew nothing about Alpacas. When I got home we spent the next few weekends visiting local farms and ranches to learn more about these exciting animals.
On Labor day we went to the Bolivian Import sale in Bend Oregon planning, of course, to "just watch", but the excitement was too much and when the day was over, between my brother and I, we had six bred Bolivian females and no place to put them. So the next few days we started setting fences and the girls arrived in September with our first cria arriving just 10 days later. Straight Arrow arrived in October and a few weeks later crias began coming in earnest and we were fully ensconced in the alpaca business.
We now have 29 alpacas and have been blessed this year with eight females and one male from Straight Arrow. Our love for these animals continues to grow and we would love for you to come and visit our farm.
