Augustus is an outstanding herdsire! He has passed on his gorgeous fine fiber to his crias, yet he is still incredibly dense. With Accoyo Peruvian Felix as his sire and Peruvian Hemingway as his grandsire he couldn't miss!

We are very impressed with his ability to add density and fineness while keeping the color. Here are histograms from two of last years crias. Note that both have Comfort Factors of 100%. In the case of the Bay Black, Augustus was able to improve fineness by more than 5 microns and move the Comfort Factor up to 100% from 92.2% on the dam's first fleece.

Cria histograms:

Medium Brown 17.4/4.1/23.7/CF 100% - Out of a fawn Dam

Bay Black 17.1/4.6/26.7/CF 100% - Out of a True Black Dam her histogram was 22.3/5.2/23.2/CF 92.2% on her first shearing

Augustus is easy going and has had cria that are the calmest in the herd. Some allowing farm visitors to come up and scratch them.

Even at 8 years of age his bite is right on. He has a compact body style and excellent conformation.

If you are interested in focusing on high quality fine fiber, Augustus is the service sire for you. We are now accepting bookings for the 2005 season.

Schedule early so you don't miss out on this outstanding male in 2005.

Augustus is offered by: Chappell’s Alpaca Junction in Junction City, Oregon & SpringHill Alpacas in Albany, Oregon
