Dutch, Maryann & Jacob Huyett Leaving Alaska with the last three of our six children, we came to Oregon to grow things. Within a year, Maryann had collected 27 rose bushes, (coincidentally the number of years in Alaska...) The kids came with a dog, rabbit and bird, but that collection was to grow also. We looked at the possibility of buying a filbert farm for a family business. Then we saw an ad ~ in an Alaska magazine of all places~ and now we are the very blessed owners of a fabulous, colorful collection of gorgeous Alpacas!
Dutch's background in Paramedicine made him the obvious choice for who gives the vaccinations: Micah and Nathan's love of body-building make them perfect hay-day and shearing hands: Jacob's forte' is animals, so he does the halter training, nail-trimming and showing and a lot in between. Maryann...well, I always wanted to be a midwife!
We praise God for the incredible blessings of our life and our alpacas. We never dreamed this big. It has been wonderful. And to think how boring life would have been if we had settled for watching nuts grow!
